News of content controls (w:sdt) and data binding

Hi all,

Could you kindly help me with this situation? When processing a word template with OpenDoPE repeats, docx4j generates output as expected in Docx. However, when exporting to pdf (using viaXSLFO), all data in the table are just duplicates of the first row. Please note that number of rows are populated correctly.

Please see the attached outputs:

I have some problem by processing a word document which already has a customXml/item1.xml
I can open the doc one first time, read all content controls in it, create a new item2.xml with some data and save it.
When I try to open the generated doc with Winword it says "Document cannot be open, because the content has some problems". but i go next and than I can open it.

I've tested the proposed null hyperLinkStyleId patch discussed in the below post. Seems to work fine. Patch file attached, if you find it useful.

Questions on 2.7.1:

1. BindingHandler.setHyperlinkStyle(...) comments say setting the hyperlink style to null (the default) will not convert "http://" to w:hyperlink, but the default, as well as explicitly setting the style ID to null, both seem to always convert to w:hyperlink. While applyBindings does respect the null when deciding whether to "activate" the style, processString(...) seems to ignore the null style ID setting for "http://" and calls addHyperlinkToDocFrag(...), which adds the w:hyperlink. Should processString include ...

applyBinding works both with build 1620 and the above jar file, properly populating the target file, Word opens it fine, all looks ...

When updating a docx file, with a repeating row, multiple times via preprocess/applybindings, the XPathIDs and XPaths of the cell contents have the "row"/etc. numbers expanded, which get longer and longer with each update via XML.

Before I dig further into it, is there a simple (or not so simple) method to, prior to the next XML update,

1. delete all the table rows except the first ...

I am generating a word document by mapping xml file.

I am using opendope word add in to bind the content controls.

However,I am not able to edit the generated word document because the content is surrounded by content control. Word does not allow simple editing on content controls.

I actually have to remove content control from generated document and then edit the text. Its really a pain to delete each and every content control ...

As per the post in the parent forum, I hope/plan to release docx4j 2.7.1 soon.

There have been some improvements to OpenDoPE processing in this release, so please test them out.

I am using 2.6.0 version. I convert templates with custom xml data and content controls (also repeats) using the OpenDoPEHandler.preprocess(wordMLPackage)
BindingHandler.applyBindings(wordMLPackage.getMainDocumentPart()).

I've published source code for a webapp which performs non-interactive processing of an OpenDoPE docx. The idea is that you provide the docx and an xml file, and the servlet will process that and then stream you the resulting docx.

A web app is a better approach than a command line app which exits after each run, since you don't incur Context startup time for each document.
