RangePermissionStart/end does not work in Word 2007

Dear Support,

I'm creating a protected document with only certain parts of the document be editable. The document is set to "STDocProtect.READ_ONLY" and the protection is enforced.

The parts where the pieces are editable are surrounded by the "RangePermissionStart" objects: <w:PermStart
w:id="0" w:edGrp="everyone"/> and <w:PermEnd...>
However somehow that is not working in Word 2007, but only 2010 or above. That is inside a table and SDT blocks. Do you have any hints why this is not working?
